What is a Coffee Diet? Everything you need to know

The Coffee diet involves drinking a minimum of three cups of caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee every day. If drinking three cups of coffee every day interests you, then this diet is for you. 

The Coffee diet was developed by Dr. Bob Arnot. He has purportedly claimed that drinking coffee several times every day can decrease the appetite. Thereby boost metabolism, burn more fat, and restrict calorie absorption. 

To be on this diet, you will have to drink a minimum of three cups of coffee, without adding sugar or cream. For the rest of the day, your other meals and snacks can include ones that are low in calories and fat, and rich in fibre like leafy vegetables, fruits and grains. 

Coffee is rich in caffeine and antioxidants called polyphenols, which have several health benefits, including decreased inflammation and free radical damage. The Coffee diet helps you lose weight in two methods. It suppresses your appetite and also increases metabolism. When your appetite is suppressed, your calorie intake will also be low. 

The diet also has some risk factors. Caffeine is associated with many health problems like high blood pressure, insomnia, and headaches. It is advisable to check with your doctor before starting this diet.
